Utsav Anand Dan
“One who performs opulent celebrations on such days, pleases the Lord who grants him all benedictions and removes all sins.” Hari-bhakti-vilas
Srila Prabhupada established opulent Deity worship and celebration of Vaisnava festivals. These festivals are opportunities that Krishna Himself, out of His unlimited mercy, has given us so that our whole Vaishnava family can unite and express our gratitude towards the Lord and our love for Him, His associates and devotees.
At Hare Krishna Land, Phoenix, we celebrate the following main festivals:
Lord Nityananda’s Appearance Day
Nrsimhadeva Appearance Day
Srila Prabhupada’s Appearance Day
Srila Prabhupada’s Disappearance Day
In 2007, the Utsav Anand Dan project was launched at Hare Krishna Land, Phoenix, to cover festival expenses. This project allows devotees and well-wishers to participate with an annual contribution of Rs. 1008 per person or family.
For the pleasure of Their merciful Lordships Sri Sri Radha-Golokananda, the members of the festival committee would like to increase the opulence of the current temple festivals and also introduce more programmes, especially during Their Lordships' Silver Jubilee Year (2007-2008).
For example, the festival committee recently invited His Grace Sarvabhauma Prabhu for Rama Katha and one month of intense spiritual enlivenment through diverse programmes such as preaching to doctors in hospitals and radio and TV interviews. He is eagerly expected for Gita Jayanti, our annual Ratha Yatra and Boat Festival in December.
If you wish to participate in this scheme, please contact Giridhari Das on 750 4080 or the temple office on 696 5804.
